THEODORE "TED" MORITZ

Ted Moritz, 84, of Gainesville, MO passed away on March 8, 2013 at the Gainesville Healthcare Center, where he had been a long time resident. He was born on May 9, 1928 in Sedan, MO the son of Andrew and Elizabeth (Nicholson) Moritz.

To many, Ted's early life seemed more troubled than most; some of those difficulties, like most of us, handed to him by life and many of them, like all of us, self-inflicted. The troubles never really broke him, but they broke his health and in doing so brought him some happiness.

There are those of us who, like Ted, layer by layer become sanded down and smoothed and rounded by difficulty until at last only their best qualities show. During his long residence and many friendships with those who cared for him, he shone with kindness and remembrance and consideration and a great gratitude for those around him, family and friend and caregiver alike.

Ted, we are all joyous you have gone where quiet victories count as much as the big ones. And we will miss you because a little light is enough if it is steady.

Ted is survived by many members of his extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Elizabeth Moritz; and his siblings Max Moritz, Robert "Bob" Moritz, Frances Pauline Marcotte and Ida Mae Bone.
