Thomas Gilbert McManus

Ava, MO

Thomas Gilbert McManus, 58 years, 7 months, and 13 days old, passed away on July 27, 2015 at his home with his family by his side.

Thomas was born December 14, 1956 in Gulf port, MS to Ira and Frankie (King) McManus.

Thomas was a welder for most of his life. He was also an exceptional chef. Thomas was a resident of the Ava community since 2008 after moving from Mississippi.

On October 25, 1979 Thomas and Patricia Lee (Moore) were united in marriage in Crystal Springs, Mississippi and to this union one child was born.

Thomas was a member of Ava Full Gospel Church.

He enjoyed fishing with his son Steven and spending time with his grandchildren. He had a passion for helping orphaned children in Africa. Thomas had a big heart and was quick to help anyone in need. He loved his church family as well.

Thomas was preceded by his father, Ira.

Thomas is survived by his wife, Patricia "Patty" McManus, Ava, MO, a daughter, Misty McGinnis and husband Joe, Ava MO, two sons, Thomas Lee McManus, Ocean Springs, MS and Steven Lee Green, Ava, MO, two grandchildren, Jasmyn and Jacob McGinnis, Ava, MO, a sister, Linda Garcia, Gulf Port, MS, and a host of other family and friends.


Cremation is being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. A Celebration of Life for Thomas will be August 8th, at 6:00 pm at Ava Full Gospel Church. Officiating will be Pastor Rod Scoville. Memorials may be made to the African Children Outreach.
