TIM "BIRD" AMYX

Tim "Bird" Amyx, 53, of Gainesville, MO passed away on February 21, 2015 at the Gainesville Healthcare Center. He was born on August 25, 1961 in West Plains, MO the son of Cleon and Sylvia (Snelling) Amyx.

Bird, friend, son, brother, dad… Tim had many names. The one he cherished the most was grandpa, or papa as the little ones would say. No matter the title, everyone knew him as he was a lifelong citizen of our little town of Gainesville. Dad was very intelligent and was someone we could turn to with any question or problem. He was also a very skilled carpenter who worked hard and who loved what he did. Life will not be the same without him, but the memories will be forever remembered.

Tim is survived by his two children Morgan Spoor of West Plains, MO and Doug Amyx of Gainesville, MO; four grandchildren Chase Schofield, Emma Amyx, Avery Spoor and Anthony Amyx; his father Cleon Amyx and stepmother Tanya Amyx of Ozark, MO; one brother Tracey Amyx and wife Katrina of Hardenville, MO; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother Sylvia Amyx; one brother Tony Amyx; maternal grandparents Red and Leona Snelling; and paternal grandparents Georgia and Sigel Amyx.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2015 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO with Bro. Jeff Dotson officiating. Burial will be in the Smith Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon from 1 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family as a love offering and can be left at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
