TIMMY JAMES DOUGHERTY
Timmy James Dougherty, son of Johnny Joe and Bernice Louise Lister Dougherty, was born six minutes after his twin brother, Jimmy Joe, in Ava, Missouri on January 12, 1958.
He joined his mother and loved ones on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 49, Tim suffered from a long terminal disease called scleroderma.
He was preceded in death by his mother. He is survived by his wife Kristin LaVonne of 26 years and their four children: Seth Peirre (Loretta) of Duncan, Oklahoma; Sarah Jane of Greenleaf, Idaho; Whitney Dawn of Rexburg, Idaho; and Timmy Chad of Duncan, Oklahoma; and two grandchildren: Malinda Lynn and Shaelyn Lavonne; father Johnny Joe of Tecumseh, Missouri; brothers Jimmy Joe (Darlene), Harold Lynn (Sharon) both of Mtn. Home, Arkansas; sister Lora Louise of Tecumseh, Missouri; nine nieces and three nephews; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Tim married Kristin LaVonne Cole on June 6, 1981 at the home of her parents, Lyle Don and Darylann Cole. They made their home in Gainesville, Missouri for over 26 years until their recent relocation to Duncan, Oklahoma to be close to their bright spot in their lives-their granddaughters.
Tim graduated from Gainesville High School in 1975, 8th in his class. All of his adult life has been spent self-employed either cutting cedar logs, making pallets or other odd jobs.
Tim was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on July 31, 1984, where he has served in several teaching positions, Cub Scout master and as a home teacher.
Tim's rare advanced terminal scleroderma will be researched and studied by doctors for the research and educational purposes to some day prevent unsuspecting victims from going through this horrible disease as Tim has had for over 16 years.
Funeral Services will be Monday, October 22, 2007 at 2:00 PM, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ava, Missouri. Burial will follow at Lilly Ridge Cemetery near Gainesville.
