Obituary

Todd Nash passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at his residence in Gainesville, MO. He was 48 years old. Todd was the second son of Joe and Joan (Hambelton) Nash born on August 5, 1961 in West Plains, MO. He was welcomed home by his brother, Jeff.

Joe and Joan lived and raised their boys in Gainesville. During Todd's childhood, while living inside the city limits, he and Jeff enjoyed summer days walking down the hill to the town square, where they always found something to do. Whether they found people to visit with or participated in a pick-up ballgame or went to visit their dad at work, their days in Gainesville were full. An important part of the day was correcting any 'misunderstanding' that Joan may have had with them before their dad got home. The stories that Todd and Jeff could tell about those days were numerous and usually funny.

Following his graduation from Gainesville School, Todd worked in Mtn. Home, AR where he was a salesman at Kent Chevrolet and Norcross Ford.

On June 24, 1988 Todd married Shelly Douglas at Bull Shoals, AR. Todd and Shelly were blessed with the births of two sons, Dalton and Dakota. They chose to live and raise their family in Gainesville.

Todd worked with his dad and Jeff for many years at their service station, Nash and Sons, Inc. Following Joe's retirement, his hope came to be, when Todd and Jeff became partners in their businesses, Nash and Sons Brokerage and Nash Auto Sales.

In the 1990's Joe and Joan purchased land near Pontiac, commonly referred to as 'The Farm'. While this was a working cattle farm, there was the added benefit of being a great place to hunt. During deer and turkey seasons there was no question where Todd, Jeff and their boys were at. They were at the cabin for the weekend hunting, eating, laughing and sleeping. Todd was so proud when any of the kids shot a deer or turkey, and if you happened to be in the office in the following week or so, you could hear the detailed story and see a picture.

He loved being at the farm, whether it was for hunting or checking the cattle. He included his sons in whatever needed to be done and loved doing it.

Todd loved his family. His boys' activities were very important to him and Shelly. When Dalton or Dakota had a ballgame, they were there. From T-ball, Popcorn League, Jr. High to High School, Todd was his proudest when he was watching his sons. Every game held a story, and again, if you were at the office the day after the game, you could hear a detailed rundown of the game. Whatever the boys participated in, he showed his support by being there. Todd loved his family.

Todd was a generous, warm, loving man. He cared about others and their lives and struggles, and showed his support in whatever way he needed to do, to help. He has been there for friends during hard times and helped to celebrate happy times. He was a true friend, a caring son, a faithful husband, a strong brother, a loving dad and humble Christian man.

Todd is survived by his wife Shelly, sons Dalton and Dakota all of the family's home; mother Joan Nash, brother Jeff Nash and his wife Kim all of Gainesville, MO.

Todd is preceded in death by his dad, Joe Nash.
