Tom G. Brown, 71 years and 9 days, passed away on April 5, 2013 at his home with his family by his side.

Tom was born March 26, 1942 in Douglas County, MO to John and Minnie (Davis) Brown.

Tom lived most of his life in Douglas County and was a farmer. He also was a Vietnam War Veteran and served with the U.S. Army.

On March 25, 1961, Tom and Sandra Sue Lethco were united in marriage in Ava, MO. Tom was a Christian and attended the Goodhope General Baptist Church.

Tom enjoyed music and loved playing the guitar.
He also enjoyed his farm and raising the cattle and making people laugh with a great joke. Tom was a true neighbor and always extended a helping hand.
Tom was devoted and extremely generous in all ways to his family.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Bob, one sister, Julie Rotrock and one grandson, Tony Cornelius.


Tom is survived by his wife, Sue Brown, Ava, MO, three children, Terry & Melissa Cornelius, Ava, MO, Rodney & Lisa Brown, Seymour, MO and Dianne Brown, Ava, MO, four grandchildren; Savanna Cornelius, Delmar & Dennis Oliver and Kayli Brown, one brother, Jim Brown, Rochelle, IL, two sisters, Zola Lutz, Springfield, MO and Joann Silvey, CA, nieces, nephews, two special dogs, Cody & Trubby and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Tom will be Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Ava Cemetery with full military honors by Ava American Legion #112. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Bob Huskey and Rev. David Welsh. Memorials may be made to the family as a Love offering
