Tom Johnson, 98 years, 0 months, and 11 days old, passed to heaven on April 21, 2013 at his home with his wife, Jewell and sons by his side.

Tom was born April 10, 1915 in Smallett, MO to John and Bertha Bell ( Kester ) Johnson.

Tom was a life long resident of Ava and Douglas County community. On December 1, 1939, Tom and Jewell Newton were united in marriage in Ozark, MO and to this union two sons were born.

Tom was currently serving as Pastor at the Springcreek General Baptist Church. He Pastored several churches over the time span of 65 years. Tom served the Lord in serving others and has led many many people to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Tom was also a farmer.

Tom was lovinging devoted to his wife, Jewell for 73 years.
He adored his sons and all his family. His Love and Legacy will live on in his family and friends.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ferl & Elmer Johnson and one sister, Helen.


Tom is survived by his wife, Jewell Johnson, Ava, MO, two sons and their spouses, Larry & Shirley Johnson, Ava, MO and Lowell & Jo Johnson, Springfield, MO, three grandchildren & their spouses, Kent & Kim Johnson, Ava, MO, Brad & Caryl Johnson, Ozark, MO and Romy & Warner Roaseau, Ozark, MO, eight great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Tom will be Thursday, April 25, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Springcreek Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Oren Alcorn and Rev. Freeda Holt. Memorials may be made to Springcreek Cemetery at the funeral home.
