VELMA HAMBELTON
Velma Hambelton passed away Monday afternoon, April 16, 2007 at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas. She was 72 years, 9 months, and 15 days old. Velma was born on July 1, 1934 in Minden Mines, Missouri to George Henry Forrest and Nellie (Dyer) Forrest. On May 29, 1957 Velma and Loyd Hambelton were married in Carthage, Missouri. Velma and Loyd made their home in Ozark County where they worked together in the family business. Velma also worked for the City of Gainesville as City Clerk for 12 years. She also was the Farm Bureau insurance agent for Ozark County for many years. After retiring from Farm Bureau, Velma continued to work in the family business along side her family. A member of the Eastern Star, Velma is survived by her Children Brenda Amyx of Gainesville, Missouri, Martie Hambelton and wife Carla of Gainesville, Missouri, and Janet Johnson and husband Larry of Gainesville, Missouri. 10 Grandchildren Amanda Forrest, Sandy Naegele, Jennifer Curtwright, Monty Hambelton, Michael Hambelton, Manuel Hambelton, Dusty Rowbothan, Hesston Johnson, Misti Johnson, Laramie Johnson, 7 great grandchildren. Shayna Naegele, Legend Naegele, Patience Naegele, Wyatt McKee, Tony Moore ,Gaven Rowbothan, Graden Rowbothan, Preceded in death by her parents George and Nellie Forrest, husband Loyd Hambelton, son Dwayne Forrest, and brother Floyd Forrest.
Funeral Services for Velma were held Thursday afternoon, April 19, 2007 at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Gainesville, Missouri with Gale Wooten officiating. Burial followed at Brushy Knob Cemetery. Pallbearers were Martie Hambelton, Monty Hambelton, Michael Hambelton, Manuel Hambelton, Hesston Johnson, Laramie Johnson, Larry Johnson, and Rob Naegele.
