Verness "V.A." Shull, Jr.

Ava, Missouri

Verness Junior (V.A.) Shull was born on May 1st, 1929, in Silverton of Douglas County Missouri and passed on to his heavenly home on January 10, 2018. V. A. was the son of Edna Ray and Verness Shull and the grandson of Lenora Willgus and William Shull and Lavina Spurlock and Charles Ray. V. A. graduated from Ava High School in 1946.

V.A. married the love of his life, Daisy Barton on May 14th, 1951.He served his country as a member of the U.S. Coast Guard and moved his bride to Detroit, Michigan, for 3 years before returning to the family farm in Ava, Missouri, to raise his three children Dale Ray, Terril Jay, and Lila Lucinda (Cindy). VA and Daisy worked for years raising dairy then beef cattle and investing and selling real estate. He loved a good game of baseball whether playing or watching, and he spent several years enjoying golfing and bowling.

V.A. was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Dale Shull, and his grandson Dillon State. He leaves behind; his wife, Daisy, of Ava, son, Terril Shull, West Plains, daughter, Cindy Shull and husband Jeff Dunshee of Willard; granddaughter Amber Wilson and husband Seth of Kansas City; granddaughter Airin Bassett and husband Justin of Ava; grandson Corben Shull and Carrie of Clever; grandson Tyler Shull of Rogersville; grandson Weston State and wife Leah of Springfield; and great-grandchildren Alivia, Allyson, Connor, Ashton, Aubrey, Zoe, Pepper, Madie, Izzy, and William and a sister Claudia Deckard of Springfield, Missouri.

Funeral services for V.A. will be Sat., Jan.13, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation for V.A. will be Saturday, January 13th 1:00 p.m. till service time. Officiating will be Pastor Oren Alcorn. Memorials may be made to donors choice of charity.
