Vernice Lois Uhlmann, the youngest of ten children, was born November 30, 1929 at Blanche, Missouri, to Jake and Ada Stout and passed away February 10th, 2007 in her home in Drury, MO.
She was married to Charles Doin Uhlmann on June 6, 1948 who preceded her in death in April, 1997. Their two sons and two daughters are all surviving and are Steve and Debbie Uhlmann of Drury, MO, Lee Uhlmann of Mtn. Grove, MO, Marsha and Terry Henry of Springfield, Teresa and Ryan Richardson of Walnut Shade, Mo and MO, five grandchildren, Jeremy and Cindy Uhlmann, Nathan Uhlmann, Reuben Uhlmann, Renae and Tom Sattazahn, and Leslie Richardson, four great-grandchildren, Haley and Caleb Uhlmann, Hannah and Abigail Sattazahn and another little great-grandson Uhlmann to be born in April. Also surviving is a brother, Hugh Stout, of Lawrence, Kansas, five brother and sisters in laws, Mabel Uhlmann, Marjorie and Charles Taylor, Golda Stout, and Doris Stout, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Vernice became a Christian at the age of 18 and was a faithful member of the Gentryville Community Church. She served on the Blanche Cemetery board for many years and was a member of the White Oak Grove Women's Club. Several years ago, she delivered mail for the Drury Post Office for a short time. She spent considerable time in her favorite Bible, and will be remembered for her wonderful homemade bread, love of books, quilting, but most of all, serving her family.
Services for Vernice Uhlmann will be 1 P.M. Wednesday February 14, 2007 at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home Ava, Missouri with visitation on from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. February 13, 2007. Burial will be 3 P.M. Wednesday in Blanche Cemetery in Blanche, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Blanche Cemetery fund. Services are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home Ava, Missouri.
