VERNON JEFFERSON GARRISON

Funeral services for Vernon Jefferson Garrison, 83, of Theodosia, MO will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2017 in the Lutie True Hope Church in Theodosia, MO with Doyle Tuner officiating. Vernon died on March 16, 2017 in his home with his family by his side.

He was born September 26, 1933 at Theodosia, MO the son of Thomas and Emma (Tabor) Garrison. He married Shirley Mahan on September 10, 1955.
Vernon's life revolved around his family. He was a carpenter and dairy farmer by trade for many years, working the farm and gardening to the best of his ability until his death. His love of fishing and hunting was a legacy he passed on to his family. He was a wonderful father, taking his daughters to set many hours with them deer and turkey hunting, telling everyone stories of those adventures afterwards. He loved sharing stories with friends. He dedicated his life to the Lord and was baptized in 2015.

He is survived by his daughters Shena Loftis and husband Greg of Thornfield and Rhonda Cook and husband Keith of Bradleyville; his grandchildren Malissa Reardon and husband Shawn of Theodosia, Michael Loftis and wife Laine of Squires, Jess Cook and wife Cammy of Taneyville, Landon Cook and fiancé Shannon Castillo of Bradleyville; great grandchildren Madison and Emma Reardon, Grady, Layla and Chason Loftis, and Cora Cook; along with special nieces and nephews, and faithful companion, his dog, Abby.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; his sisters Versie Herd, Liddie Nave, Velma Long; one brother Virgil Garrison; and special nephew Tommy Kellum.

Burial will be in the Lutie Cemetery. Arrangements are by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
