Vernon Cecil Witchey

Vernon Cecil Witchey, 68 years, 6 months, 21 days old, passed away on July 18, 2025.

On  December 28, 1956, Vernon was born in Ava, Missouri, to Cecil "Bud" and Roma (Huffman) Witchey.  He grew up in Ava with his brother and sister, Lloyd and Glenda. Vernon worked as a sub foreman at Emerson Electric for several years.  He later became self employed and worked for Witchey Trucking.

Vernon attended church with Lloyd and was baptised in Mansfield, Missouri.

He was a good neighbor and loved to visit with family and friends. Children loved being around him. Vernon was selfless and kind and wanted to take care of people. He loved his dog, Buddy, and enjoyed going on walks with him.

Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Lloyd.

He is survived by his sister, Glenda; his nephew, Jonathan and Lori Witchey; many relatives and friends.

Cremation services for Vernon are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava, Missouri. Burial will be in the Whites Creek cemetery.
