Violet Hinote

Violet Faye (Pierson) Hinote, 80, of Norwood, MO passed to eternal life on June 22, 2013. She was born May 26, 1933 at Prairie Hollow in Douglas County Missouri to John Columbus Pierson and Ada Opal Pope Pierson.
Violet married James Russell Hinote on September 23, 1951 and to this union were two daughters, Portia (Hinote) Potter and Yolanda (Lannie) Hinote. She was a member of the Friendship FreeWill Baptist Church since 1979 and also attended Cold Springs and Eastern Gate in her later years.
Violet is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, her parents, four brothers (Eugene Pierson, John Jr Pierson, Kenneth Pierson, and Robert Pierson), one sister (Annabelle Warner), three brother-in-laws (Stanley Hinote, Monte Warner and Wilbur Jennings), and one sister-in-law (Dorothy Jennings).
Violet is survived by her two daughters, Portia Potter and husband Donald, Lannie Hinote; her grandchildren Scotty Potter and Amanda, Miranda Potter, Gayela and Scott Linton, Crystal and Jeremy Emery, Gena and Homer Flores, Rusty and MaryAnn Potter, Emily and Anthony Thornhill, and Joshua Hinote. She is also survived 17 great-grandchildren: Dakota, Cheyenne, Breanne, Bailey, Taylor, Gabe, Anthony, Nathan, Alicia, Natalie, Hunter, Ellie, Elizabeth, Kennedy, Xavier, Xander, and McKennah as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins and her church families. Violet is also survived by one sister, Francis and Paul Hudgens and one sister-in-law, Ivona Pierson.
Violet was actively involved in her church and community and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, needlepoint, fishing and hunting as well as traveling throughout the United States. Violet will be greatly missed by all that knew her as she opened her home and heart to all around her. Violet was very active in the Pierson Reunion of which she was so very proud of.
Services for Violet will be Thursday, June 27, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial following in the Oak Forest Cemetery, Norwood, MO. Visitation is Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Donald Potter and Rev. Scott Linton. Memorials may be made to Oak Forest Cemetery.
