Virginia R. Crank, 83 years, 2 months, and 2 days old, passed to Heaven on March 1st, 2015 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
Virginia attended school and lived most of her life in Ava.
Virginia and Joseph Rex Crank were united in marriage on October 24, 1949 in Mt. Home, AR, and to this union a daughter was born, Julie Marie Crank.
Virginia worked as a waitress and housekeeper for most of her life. She was a Christian and a member of the New Hope Freewill Baptist Church where she served as secretary, treasurer, and played the piano. She enjoyed Singing, playing the piano, and crossword puzzles. Virginia also volunteered at the Ava Senior Citizens Center for 11 years and helped with the Meals on Wheels program.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Bailey and Iva Ludwig, her husband Joseph Crank, and three sisters, Wilda Loyd, Annette Caudill, and Mary Caudill.
Virginia is survived by her daughter Julie Crank of Springfield, MO, a granddaughter, Johana Xochitl Duran of Springfield, MO, a brother, Larry Ludwig of Mansfield, MO, two sisters, Ila Stillings and Aloma Cummins, both of Ava, as well as many nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
Funeral services for Virginia will be Friday, March 6, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to service time in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Richard Potter. Memorials may be made to the New Hope Freewill Baptist Church.
