Virginia Ruth Gaulding

Virginia Ruth Gaulding the daughter of Blaine Heriford and Dora (Grudier) Heriford was born Dec.31, 1923 in Hammond, MO and departed this life Nov. 22, 2010 at the age of 86 years 10 months and 21 days.

Virginia was a lifelong resident of the Thornfield area. On May 31, 1941 Virginia and Hervil Gaulding were united in marriage in Gainesville, MO. Hervil and Virginia were blessed with four children. Virginia and Hervil built the new Thornfield Store after buying the old business from Chet Watson. Hervil preceded her in death in 1979.

Virginia loved cooking and singing both in church and at home. She loved her family and serving the Lord. Virginia attended the Thornfield Southern Baptist Church.

Sept. 8, 1986 Virginia and Alfred Hutchings were united in marriage. Mr. Hutchings preceded in death in 2000.

Virginia was also preceded in death by her parents and by a daughter, Evangeline, all her siblings and their spouses and Hervil's siblings and spouses. Survivors include two daughters, Faye and Bob Anglin, Lake of the Ozarks, Phyllis and John Turner, Gainesville, MO, and one son, H. K. Gaulding and his wife, Suzanne, Thornfield, MO, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Services will be Sat. Nov. 27, 2010, 10:00 a.m. in the Thornfield Chapel, Thornfield, MO with the Pastor Barry DeWeese and Pastor Jack Clemans officiating. Interment will be in the Thornfield Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 6 to 7 P.M. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. Contributions may be made to the Thornfield Cemetery.
