Virgina Marie Huff, 92 years, 1 month, 14 days old, passed peacefully on June 19, 2023 at her home from a long illness with her family by her side.

Marie was born May 5, 1931 in Rome, MO in Douglas County to Virgil and Claudia (Selvidge) Mendel.

On  August 12, 1949 Marie and Junior Huff  were united in marriage and they were blessed with six children.

Marie was a lifelong resident of the Ava community. She was a homemaker and worked hard on the farm with Junior. They were dairy, beef and hog farmers. She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Ava. She enjoyed her horses and flowers.  Marie loved taking care of her family, especially her grand and great and great great grandchildren!

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Junior in 2021; her daughter, Vicki Jean Givans; her son, Greg; grandchildren, Gabe, Jordan, Jay Willis, Michelle, Missy and KK; a great grandson, Daniel; her brother, RJ Mendel, two sisters Dorothy Mendel and Velda Harvey.

Marie is survived by her four children; Mike Huff, Cecil and wife, Sonya Huff, Rick Huff and fiancé, Linda, Terry Huff and Donna; many grandchildren; several great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; one brother, Gary Mendel and wife Nancy; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and numerous friends.

Funeral services for Marie will be Friday, June 23, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Spring Creek Cemetery.  A visitation will be Thursday, June 22nd from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Neal Crum. Family requests donations to the Spring Creek Cemetery.
