Virginia Lee Johnson, 83 years, passed to heaven on June 13, 2012 at Springfield Rehabilitation Health Care Center, Springfield, MO.

Virginia was born August 23, 1928 in Tulsa, OK to Aude Ervin and Alice Lena (Albright) Johnson.

Virginia was a resident of Springfield, MO for several years moving from the Ava area after she graduated from High School. She was a Christian and a member of the Caney General Baptist Church in the Brownbranch community.

Virginia was a retired Cook and had worked for Davidsons Cafeteria and later for Heritage Cafeteria for many years in Springfield. She had also got her Cosmetology License. Virginia enjoyed her cat, Abbey. She loved flowers and crocheting. Virginia loved being an aunt and delighted in spending time with her nephews and nieces.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law, James Cunningham and sister-in-law, Doris June Johnson.


Virginia is survived by one sister, Marian Cunningham, Fordland, MO and one brother, Kenneth Johnson & wife, Lois, Raytown, MO, two nephews, Jamey & Tommy Cunningham, four nieces, Brenda Smith, Glenda Robinson, Mary Sands and Elizabeth Merkley, many great nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.


Funeral services for Virginia will be Saturday, June 16, 2012, 2:00 p.m. at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to service time in the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. James Hathcock. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
