Virginia Bell Lee, 89 years, passed to heaven on February 4, 2010 at St.John's Regional Health Center, Springfield, MO.
Virginia was born January 25, 1921 in Sumner, NE to Elmer and Nettie (Clouse) Freeze.
Virginia was a resident of Rogersville since 1993 moving from the Springfield area. She also lived in Ava, MO many years where she owned and operated The Pantry Cafe. She also worked at Chastains Nursing Home in Ava as a cook for several years. In Springfield, she worked at Springfield Community Hospital in their food service dept.
In 1939 Virginia and Edwin Brown were united in marriage and to this union two daughters were born.
Virginia was a member of the Catholic Church. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, needle work and attending shows in Branson. Most of all she enjoyed be with all her family.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Nettie Freeze, a granddaughter, Angela Williams and two brothers.
Virginia is survived by two daughters, Julane Williams, Ava, MO and Melva Thomas, Rogersville, MO, three grandchildren, Jeffrey Thomas, Cynthia Luttrull and Rhonda Adams, seven great grandchildren, Jennifer, Alexandria, Patrick, Zachary, Levi, Dylan and Sydney, one sister, Mabel Sirna, Lampe, MO, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Virginia will be Monday, February 8, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Leo's Catholic Church, Ava, MO with burial in the Ava Cemetery. Officiating will be Fr. Paul Wightman. Memorials may be made to Neighbor Helping Neighbor. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO.
