Obituary

Virginia Prock, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on September 14, 2022 at the age of 103.  She was born on June 20, 1919 in Girdner, Missouri, the daughter of Perry and Alta Rennaker. On June 16, 1941, she married the love of her life, Rondo Prock, and they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in 2011 before Rondo's death in 2012.

During World War II, Virginia worked in Portland, Oregon as a welder building ships for the war effort. In 1946 Virginia and Rondo returned to Ava where they owned several businesses.

Virginia was a dedicated daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  Taking care of her family and her church were her top priorities. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ava for over 50 years.

She was a member of the Ava Saddle Club and the Missouri Fox Trotting Horse Breeders Association. She loved riding on their farm, spent many weekends trail riding, and continued riding until she was 95. She and Rondo loved the Ozarks and considered it the perfect place to go fishing, camping, riding, and hunting.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Perry and Alta Rennaker; her husband, Rondo Prock; her brothers, Lloyd, Homer, and Howard; her sisters, Zelda, Vida, Annabelle, and Hazel; and her grandson, Cory Newton.

Virginia is survived by her daughter, Connie and husband, Armand Chaput of Austin, Texas; her grandson, Todd Newton, Madison, Wisconsin, and Todd's daughter, Maddy, Virginia's great granddaughter; and her sister, Glenda Corbett of Dallas, Texas. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

The family is grateful for both Hospice and Ozark Nursing and Care for the excellent care they provided for her. Special thanks to Virginia's niece, Kay Cantrell for providing assistance and comfort while Virginia lived in Springfield.

A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with Pastor Rick Spacek officiating.
