Vonda LaVonne (Jones) McDaniel was born in Powell, Wy. on May 26, 1941 and passed away December 25, 2008 in Branson, MO at the age of 67 years. She was the second child born to Alton Jones and Leatha Chapman.
Vonda attended Barefoot school as a child and graduated from Gainesville High School. Vonda spent the last thirty-four years of her life living in Longrun, Mo. The last twenty-six of those were spent running a successful dairy farm singlehandedly. Not many women would have been able to do this.
Vonda had a daughter, Lisa Frye, of Branson, Mo. and a son, John McDaniel, who lives on the family farm in Longrun, Mo.
Vonda had six grandchildren that she loved very much and they loved her back equally. Jessie Estrada, Jill Frye, and Julie Frye of Branson, Mo.; James Frye of Gainesville, Mo.; Sonya McDaniel of Ava, Mo. and Nick McDaniel of Longrun, Mo. She was also blessed to have two great-grandsons, Eli Estrada and Braden Frye and soon in February, her first great-granddaughter.
Vonda was very close to her brothers and sister-in-laws, Lynn and Judy Jones of Theodosia, Mo.; Connie and Ethel Jones of Thornfield, Mo., and her sister, Carla Hambelton of Gainesville, Mo. Vonda had numerous nieces and nephews that she also thought quite special. Vonda's life revolved around her family.
Vonda enjoyed spending time outdoors. She loved fishing, hunting or picnics at the creek. Especially if she shared it with family.
Vonda was a special person. One thing that stands out about Vonda was her humor. Vonda loved to tease and laugh. She was a friend to many. Once you became her friend, it was for life. She was generous of heart as well. If there was anything that you needed and she had it, it was yours.
She will be missed greatly by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be 2:00PM on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO. Visitation will be Monday, December 29, 2008 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Cremation services are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville.
