VONNIE SHIRLEY BARNETT

Vonnie Shirley Barnett, 90, Gainesville, MO passed away on February 21, 2010 at St John's Regional Medical Center in Springfield, MO. She was born on November 3, 1919 in rural Ozark County, MO the daughter of Harrison and Maude (Muncey) Friend.

On September 21, 1934 she was united in marriage to Emory Barnett. To this union eight children were born. Vonnie was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She enjoyed her home, family, and friends. She loved listening to music and dancing with her friend. Every year she looked forward to dressing up for Hootin' and Hollarin'. Vonnie enjoyed life to the fullest.

She is survived by seven children Willard Barnett and wife Lizzy of Sedalia, MO, Norine Sisney and husband Orville of Gainesville, MO, Loraine Eckley and husband Lloyd of Springfield, MO, Irene Partee and husband Jerril of Mountain Home, AR, Leonard Barnett of Gainesville, MO, Louise Barnett of Mountain Home, AR, and Kevin Barnett and wife Ruth of Gainesville, MO; 31 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren; four full sisters; seven half sisters; one full brother; six half brothers; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Harrison and Maude Friend; her husband Emory Barnett; one son Cleo Barnett; two grandsons Brent Dilbeck and Denny Barnett; one daughter-in-law Barbara Barnett; and four brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 25, 2010 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO with Dale Roberts officiating. Interment will be in the Thornfield Cemetery, Thornfield, MO. Visitation will be on Wednesday evening from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.
