WACO HAMBELTON

Waco Garrold Hambelton, 88, of rural Ozark County on Bryant River by Hodgson Mill, died Monday, July 10, 2017 at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, MO. He was born October 12, 1928 near Gainesville, MO, son of Arzie and Ina (Boatright) Hambelton.

Waco graduated from Gainesville High School in 1948. On February 21, 1953 he was united in marriage to Virginia Lee Collins in Mountain Home, AR. They lived in the Gainesville area before moving to Springfield/Willard area. Waco served several years in the National Guard. He graduated barber school in Kansas City, MO. He cut hair for over 40 years and enjoyed it because he had the opportunity to visit. Waco loved camping, fishing, gardening, working on the farm, but mostly "visiting"!! In 2000, he and Virginia bought a home and enough acreage for Waco to spend time on the farm on Bryant River near Hodgson Mill.
Waco was a devoted Christian man; he was a faithful member of the Ball Church of Christ in Dora, MO. He was baptized in 1955. He liked everyone he met and enjoyed visiting with everyone.

Waco was preceded in death by his parents Arzie and Ina Hambelton; two brothers Theo and Gary Hambelton; father and mother-in-law Lee and Helen Collins; and one brother-in-law Floyd Junior Collins. He is survived by his wife Virginia Hambelton of the home; one son Garrold Hambelton and wife Sandy of Springfield, MO; two grandsons Shane Hambelton and wife Chaz of Lawrence, KS and Justin Hambelton and wife Leann of Springfield, MO; one granddaughter Melanie Young of Tifton, Georgia; two great grandsons Liam and Brady; two brothers Elmo Hambelton and wife Sue and Leo Hambelton all of Gainesville, MO; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 14, 2017 at Ball Church of Christ in Dora, MO with David Shipley officiating. Burial will follow in the Ball Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, July 13, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to Fair Haven Children's Home or St Jude Children's Research Hospital and can be left at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
