Wallace Ames Sr., Theodosia, MO son of George and Cora (West) Ames, was born August 18, 1916 in Bemidji, MN and passed away March 8, 2009 in Gainesville, MO at the age of 92 years.

He was a veteran, having proudly served his country in the Army during World War II. While enlisted he spent most of his time in the South Pacific. On March 17, 1939 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Bootz in Chicago, IL. To this union three children were born. Elizabeth passed in October 2004.

He loved to fish and spend time outdoors on the farm, but he always kept busy working on small engines for someone's lawn mower or tractor. He was a well known and well respected mechanic. He was a very loving, caring husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Elizabeth; one daughter Diana McKinley; one grandchild; and three sisters.
