Wallace "Jack" Jackson

Wallace "Jack" Jackson, 73 years, was called home to be with the Lord on May 17, 2018 at his home with his wife, Pat by his side.

Jack was born November 29, 1944 in Asheville, NC to Wallace B. and Evelyn Louise (Allyson) Jackson.

Jack was an Army veteran and served during the Vietnam War and served in the special forces.

On April 17, 1970  Jack and Pat were united in marriage in Jacksonville, IL. They were blessed with three children.

He retired in 2001 after 36 years as a Programming Analyst and Data Processor for various companies and state agencies.

Jack was an active member of the Ava Highway Church of the Nazarene and Gideon's International.Some of his interests included music, singing, the outdoors, the fifties, tinkering in the workshop, Cardinals fan, Packers fan, a secret Bears fan, and Sunday drives. His joy was serving the Lord and being with all his family!

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Andy, two brothers, Tommy and Harry, and a sister, Peggy.

Jack is survived by his loving wife, Pat, of the home in Ava, two children, Bonni & Kenny Waters and Mitch Prather and fiancé, Pam, five grandchildren and their spouses, Christy & Aaron McEvers, Tricia & Justin Six, Josh & Trisha Waters, Jason & Michelle Waters, and Austin Prather,  eight great grandchildren, McKenzie & Matt Leno, Kenneth McEvers, Andrew Schultz, Beckham Six, Aubrey & Abby Waters, and Hannah & Sarah Waters, two great great grandchildren, McKenna & Elaena Leno, two brothers, Freddie & Patty Jackson and Lonnie & Ann Jackson, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for Jack will be Monday, May 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ava Highway Church of the Nazarene. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 a.m. to service time in the church. Following will be a Celebration of Life Cookout in the church's gym. Officiating will be Pastor Shane Weaver.
