WALTER GENE BILLINGSLY

Walter Gene Billingsly, known as Gene, 78, of Gainesville, MO died peacefully in his home July 26, 2017 with his life companion of 26 years, Barbara White, by his side. He was born May 11, 1939 in Ozark County, MO to Willie Edward "Josh" and Elizabeth "Lizzy" (Wallace) Billingsly.

Gene is survived by Barbara; one sister Judy Haskins and husband Ronnie; three daughters and their spouses Kandy Engels and Randy, Sandy Miller and Jay, Julie Kaufman and Trent; five granddaughters Brandy Hampton and Kevin, Amanda Norway and Adam, Maranda "Jean" Fitzgerald and Sean, Destiny Engels, and Katherine Kaufman; seven great grandchildren, Michael, Matthew & Judith Hampton, Jonas and Arabella Porsche, Randal Engles and Emma Fitzgerald; stepchildren John White and Tina, and Paige Saldana; five step grandchildren Bradley, Jacob, Hannah & Katlyn White, and Joshua Saldana; and twenty nieces and nephews.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Dick, Luther, Buster, Jim & Joe; two sisters Ruth and Mary; three grandchildren Kassandra Engels, Kristoffer and Wesley Stahl; and one step granddaughter Peyton White.

Gene was retired from John Deere and a longtime logger in Ozark County. He cherished spending time with family and friends.

A Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 29, 2017 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO. Graveside services will follow in the Riggs Billingsly Cemetery with Halbert Smith officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to the Riggs Billingsly Cemetery.
