Walter Benton "Ben" Hutchison

Ava, Missouri

Benton Hutchison, 80 years, 9 months, 25 days old, passed away on October 4, 2017 at the Kadlec Medical Hospital in Richland, Washington with his wife Janelle by his side.

Ben was born December 10, 1936 in Champion, MO in Douglas County to Thomas Alfred Hutchison and Myrtle Emily (Heath) Hutchison.

Ben was retired from working at Rawlings Sporting Goods Manufacturing Co. in Ava. He had also worked as a truck driver for Associated Grocers and in earlier years worked on building dams in Washington.

On June 8 ^th , 1979 in Miami, OK Benton and Janelle Williams were united in marriage.

He enjoyed woodworking, and made many of the furniture pieces in his home. He loved to garden, and stayed busy. It was important for him to feel productive and accomplish things. Ben enjoyed being with his family and traveling as well.

Ben was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters; Hazel Hobert, Doris Brixey, and Golda Sue Hutchison.

He is survived by his wife, Janelle of the home in Ava, three sons; Mike Williams and Deb, Scott Williams, all of Springfield, MO, and Doug and Roberta Williams of Ava, two grandchildren; Zachary Williams and Ashley Thompson, two great granddaughters; Nevaeh Williams and Aven Thompson, two brothers; Darrel & Carolyn Hutchison of Ava, and Doug Hutchison and Sami of Norwood, MO, one sister; Grace Edgar of Princeton, KS, as well as many nieces, nephews, and a many other relatives and friends and a very faithful friend, his dog Daisy.

Funeral services for Ben will be Friday, October 13 ^th at 2:00 pm at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava . Visitation will be from 1:00 to service time . Burial will be in the Ava cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Oren Alcorn . Memorials may be made to American Heart Association.
