Wanda "Jo" Josephine Engelhardt, 87 years, passed away on March 21, 2013 of complications of Alzheimer's Disease at Jordan Creek Nursing Home, Springfield, MO.

"Jo" was born June 28, 1925 in Tarkio, MO to Jessie Earl and Eula Marie ( Cox ) Robbins.

Jo was a lifelong resident of the Ava community. On January 18, 1946 Jo and Earl Otto Engelhardt were united in marriage in Mtn. Home, AR and to this union three children were born.

Jo was a dedicated housewife and mother and had also worked as a homehealth care worker. She also took on numerous other jobs throughout her life such as; waitressing, cooking, housecleaning, and an assistant school teacher to help make ends meet for her family. She was a Christian and saved and baptized in 1962. She rededicated her life with Earl in 1995. Jo and Earl were inseperable throughout their marriage. They had been married 49 years & 8 months when Earl had passed away. Jo was a member of the Mt. Tabor General Baptist Church where she had also attended school as a youngster.

Jo was preceded in death by her husband Earl, her parents, her grandparents who raised her, Shelt & Lottie Cox, , a granddaughter, Lora Engelhardt, one brother, Clyde Robbins and one sister, Betty Engelhardt. Jo is survived by three children & their spouses,Pauletta & John Moody, Battlefield, MO, Billy &Tish Engelhardt, Lexington, MO, Ric & Lisa Engelhardt, Ava, MO, 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, one brother, Bill & Lois Robbins, Dixon, MO, one sister, Edna McIntosh, Selah, WA, many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.


Funeral services for Jo will be Monday, March 25, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. in the Mt. Tabor General Baptist Church, Ava, MO with burial in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 1:00 p.m. to service time in the church. Officiating will be Rev. Zohn Engelhardt and Rev. Mike Freeman. Memorials may be made to Alzheimers Assoc., Mt. Tabor General Baptist Church or love offerings.
