WAYNE EUGENE ROBERTS

Wayne Eugene Roberts, better known as Gene, 82, of Isabella, MO passed away November 19, 2018 at his residence. He was born October 29, 1936 in Cabool, MO, son of A. Wayne and Mae (Wilson) Roberts.

He was united in marriage to Sherry Canady on January 1, 1957. Gene and Sherry met in high school in Taft, CA. After high school, Gene worked for Chevron Oil Co. in Taft being the hub of the oil business at the time. He retired after 38 years. He enjoyed the RV traveling life. He went all over the country before finding a home in Isabella, MO with a view of Bull Shoals Lake. There he lived with his wife for seventeen years until his passing.
He enjoyed Oildorado Days in Taft. He loved to barbecue, watch sports, and entertain. He just simply loved talking with people.

He is survived by his wife Sherry K. Roberts; two sons Russell and Mark Roberts; five grandchildren Adam Roberts, Amy Roberts Rients, Hollie Roberts Ellington, Robert Roberts, Brittney Roberts Reaffener; three great grandchildren Seth Talnenetz, Sawyor Talnenetz, Alayna Ellington; three brothers Edward, Elvin, and Larry Roberts.
He was preceded in death by his dad Alvin Wayne Roberts and his mother Mae Roberts.

A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 2018 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO with Halbert Smith officiating. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
