Wilbur Martin Turner

Wilbur Turner was born on October 26, 1936 the son of William Etcyl Turner and Mildred Caldonia (Plumb) Turner at Squires, MO and departed this life on October 21, 2006 at the age of 69 Years, 11 Months, and 25 Days.

Wilbur grew up in the Squires community and graduated from Ava High School, he worked as a welder. Wilbur loved his family, working outdoors, especially with timber, visiting and playing cards with friends. He was always happy to see people.

In 1959 Wilbur and Shirley Riley were united in marriage and to this union three daughters and one son was born. On Aug.12, 1976 Wilbur and Brenda Jean (McCullough) Carlson were united in marriage in Thornfield, MO and to this union one son was born. She preceded him in death.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Brenda, one son Dale Turner, one sister Opal, two brothers Dale and Gary Turner.

Survivors include: three daughters, Lois Honeycutt of Lutie, MO, Dottie Maggard of Walnut Grove, MO, and Lottie Jo Clayton of Lutie, MO, two sons, Jackie Carlson of Phoenix, AZ and Jason Turner of Springfield, MO, three sisters, Loretta Burton of Ava, MO, Barbara Cowart of Gainesville, MO and Arlene Walker of Squires, MO, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be 2 P.M. Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home Ava, MO with Rev. Tom Johnson officiating and burial in Murray Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 P.M. until service time Wednesday. Services are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, Missouri.
