Willard Shortt

Ava, MO

Willard Shortt, 91 years, 10 months, and 13 days old, passed to heaven on December 14, 2013 at his home with all his family by his side.

Willard was born February 1, 1922 in Highlonesome, MO to James Ottis and Ruby (Thomas) Shortt.

Willard lived most of his life in the Ava area. He was a Dairy and Beef Farmer. On November 15, 1953 Willard and Wanda Sagerser were united in marriage in Ava, MO and to this union two daughters were born.

Willard was a Christian and attended the Gentry Church.
He enjoyed squirrel hunting, farming, spending time with his family and especially loved spoiling his daughters.

Willard was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Owen & Marvin Shortt and one sister, Ella Davis.

Willard is survived by his wife, Wanda Shortt, Ava, MO, two daughters and their spouses; Reba & Rex Bristow, Springfield, MO and Lorna & David Welch, Ava, MO, four grandchildren; Derek Welch, Allison Welch, Tim Bristow and Jennifer Terry, three great grandsons; Kendall Welch, Gage Bristow and Daniel Terry and one great granddaughter; Bailey Terry, one sister; Onda Lane, Dyer IN and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Willard will be Wed., Dec. 18, 2013, 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. Visitation will be Wed. from 1:00 to service time in the funeral home. Cremation will follow services as per Willard's request. Officiating will be Rev. Bob Huskey and Rev. Butch McCleary. Memorials may be made to Convoy of Hope or Salvation Army.
