WILLIAM JOSEPH BLISARD
William Joseph Blisard, age 92, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2014, in Gainesville, Missouri. He was born to Lonnie Daniel Blisard and Clara Garner Blisard on June 2, 1921, at Gainesville, Missouri.
He married Helen Marie Hart April 26, 1940. In April, 2013, they celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary. He graduated from Gainesville High School. Joe Bill retired from teaching agriculture and farm management to Veterans in 1980, having taught for the Veterans Administration for 26 years in Arkansas and Missouri. Over 3000 veterans attended his classes. He was a proud Mason for 68years and a member of the Robert Burns Masonic Lodge #496 of Gainesville. He became a Worthy Noble of the Mystic Shrine in Abou Ben Adhem Temple of Springfield, Missouri, December 7, 1951. In addition to teaching, he sold insurance and real estate. He served in the Army during World War II. But, he loved most his family and his farm.
Joe Bill is survived by his son, Rex (Janice); two grandchildren, Sam and Shasta; and his sister, Helen June Conardy.
Visitation is from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 25, 2014, at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home Chapel, Gainesville, MO, with Masonic services at 12:30 p.m. Graveside funeral services will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Lutie Cemetery with Halbert Smith officiating and Full Military Honors. Arrangements are through Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Gainesville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent in his name to the Lutie Cemetery or Shriners Hospital for Children, 2001 S. Linbergh Blvd, Frontenac, MO 63131 and can be left at the funeral home.
