IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William "Bill" Myron
De Vaul
August 31, 1946 – February 4, 2026
Graveside Service
Sims Cemetery
Starts at 2:00 pm (Central time)
Graveside services for William Myron De Vaul, 79, who passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at his home in Springfield, MO, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Sims Cemetery in Gainesville, MO. He was born August 31, 1946 in Kansas City, MO. He will always be remembered as a person with a kind heart and a great love for his cats and the neighborhood cats as well.
He graduated from Gainesville High School in 1963 and always looked forward to the reunions and Hootin n Hollarin for an opportunity to visit with his colleagues, friends and family. He had a great love for his family and will always be remembered by his niece, Debbie as her favorite uncle who spent time with her on the lake growing up and who introduced her to many different foods and activities that will remain fond memories forever in her heart.
He worked at Zenith many years and had his own TV repair shop in Willard, MO for several years. He then followed in his older brother’s footsteps and joined the trucking industry as a truck driver. He worked for a few different companies until his last job at Kallmeyer Dedicated Freight where he hauled the mail as a contract carrier. He loved this job as he was able to develop several friendships and a very dear friendship with his boss and their love for cats and together they fed and took care of many of the cats that lived at the trucking company. He was very sad that an illness caused him to retire before he planned, however, he continued to check on the company cats and visited them often. He always referred to his cats as his babies and they were his family that was with him every day. He loved sports of all kinds, but especially baseball and football. He was especially fond of the Chiefs and the Cardinals from his home state!
Most of his friends know him as Bill, as this is what he went by in later years, but family knew him as Myron. He will always be Uncle Myron to his niece and her husband.
He leaves behind his niece, Debbie Covington and husband Russell of Gassville, AR; his sister-in-law, Linda De Vaul of West Plains, MO; and great niece, Jami Pitti and husband Matt; great-great nieces, Kendall, Terrionna, Anaiah, and Brayonna; great-great nephews, Wayna, Tyjuan, Javonte and Juanel all of Blue Springs, MO. He also leaves behind many cousins and family and many great friends that he thought of dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Beulah De Vaul; and one brother, Jerry De Vaul.
Memorial contributions can be given to Sims Cemetery of Gainesville, MO, or to C.A.R.E. Adoption Center in Springfield, MO who takes care of and places animals when they have no other options and give them an option to have a great home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
