William "Bill" Huffman

Ava, Missouri

William W. Huffman, 86 years, 11 months, 27 days old, passed away on July 31, 2018 at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, MO with his family by his side.

Bill was born August 4, 1931 in Ava, MO to Benjamin and Mary Ellen (Williamson) Huffman.

Bill was a U.S. Army Veteran  served as Corporal during 1952 to 1954 with the 38 ^th and 90 ^th Antiaircraft Artillery Battalions.

On July 28, 1951 Bill and Wanda Duckworth were united in marriage at Ava, MO and they were blessed with a daughter, Elaine.

Bill was a Christian and attended with Wanda, at the General Baptist Church.Bill was owner and operator of Bill's Lumber Co. in Ava for several years and he also was a Farmer. He enjoyed woodworking with his great grandson, Jayce. He was an active member of the Troy Herd American Legion Post 112. Bill delighted in giving back to his community. His joy and love was being with his family. He was a man of honor and a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather!

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Dorsey and Kelly Huffman, a granddaughter, Laretta.

He is survived by his loving wife, Wanda, his daughter and husband, Elaine and Larry Graham, one granddaughter and her husband, Rita and Curtis King, two great grandchildren, Jayce and Vayda, one nephew and wife, Scott and Gail Huffman, and a host of other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for Bill will be Friday, Aug. 3, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Denney Cemetery with full military honors by the Troy Herd American Legion Post 112 and the U.S. Army. Visitation will be Friday prior to service from 1:00 p.m. to service time in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Oren Alcorn. Memorials may be made to Denney Cemetery.
