William Henry Lawrence, 68 years, passed to Heaven on February 18, 2014 at his home in Springfield with his family by his side.

Henry was born January 13, 1946 in Pondfork, MO to Shelby Cleo and Claudia Esther (Roberts) Lawrence. He graduated from Bradleyville High School.

Henry worked in the quarry industry for many years, starting with Welton & Gray, then Journagan Construction and finished as a plant foreman at APAC. In his retirement he worked for Horton Supply Co.

He was a Christian and a member of the National Avenue Christian Church in Springfield.

Henry enjoyed fishing, camping and auto racing.

Henry and Helen Lorene Kester were united in marriage on July 18, 1964 in McClurg, MO at the Bethel Church. To this union two children were born.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, J.C. Kester.

Henry is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lorene Lawrence, of the home, his children; Patti Hall and husband, Steve, Ava, MO, Jody Lawrence and partner, Amy, Springfield, MO, two grandsons; Rex Hampton and Amy Littwiller and Cody Hall and wife, Ellie, two great grand-children; Parker and Haily Hall and another great grandson due in May; a brother, Russell Lawrence, Battlefield, MO and two sisters; Sue McIntosh, Springfield, MO and Nancy Tyrer, Kansas City, KS; ; one uncle, Junior Lawrence, Bradleyville, MO and many other family and friends.


Funeral services for Henry will be Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Reverend Laura Fregin. Memorials may be made to Cancer Research for the Ozarks, 1730 E. Republic Rd., Ste.
