WILLIAM "BILL" DALE MERIDETH

William "Bill" Dale Merideth, 88, of Isabella, MO passed away on November 23, 2014 at the Gainesville Healthcare Center. He was born in Martinsville, IN on May 6, 1926 to Eldon Dale and Evelyn (Garrison) Merideth.

After graduating from Martinsville High School in 1944, Bill joined the military. He serviced in the Air Force/Army for 27 years, serving with honor in WWII, Korea and Vietnam earning numerous medals. He retired in 1972. After his retirement, Bill taught ROTC in Gary, IN. In 1974, Bill and Betty moved to Isabella, MO where they built a home. He served as post commander at the VFW I Isabella, then served as 18th district commander and served as the commander for the state of Missouri for one year. Bill was also a Shriner and Free Mason and served as the Worshipful Master at the Eastern Star.

Bill loved spending his time fishing and drinking coffee with friends. If the weather was good he was at the lake.

Bill is survived by his wife Betty of 44 years; daughter Wilma Jo and Rocky Baker; son William "Bill" Allen and Doris Merideth; son Michael David and Lisa Merideth; sister Dorthy Jean Dills; six grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son Eldon "Buddy" Dale Merideth; and one brother Jack Merideth.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2014 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel in Gainesville, MO with Gene West officiating. Burial will be with Full Military Honors in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. Visitation will be Tuesday evening, November 25th from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the giver's choice of charity. Arrangements are by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
