WILLIAM EDD SMART

William Edd Smart, 62, of Gainesville, MO passed away on May 7, 2015. He was born on January 25, 1953 in Isabella, MO the son of William Kreath and Myrtle Ray (Shockey) Smart.

Edd was a graduate of Gainesville High School. He worked for many years in Joplin, MO in maintenance and as a mechanic for CFI Trucking Co. He moved back home after he got injured. He was a friendly and caring man.

Edd is survived by his companion, Kim Smart of the home in Gainesville, MO; his two sons David and Ryan Smart; four grandchildren: Emily, Olivia, Daisy and Star Smart; his sisters Gladys Bragg and companion Bill Anderson; Ethel Scott and husband Clarence; Leda and husband; Nellie Heaton and companion; and Alta Young and daughter; brothers James Smart and wife Roberta; John Smart and wife Phyllis; Roy Smart and wife Rayleen; Charley Smart and wife; several nieces, nephews and cousins; one special cousin, Richard Recter; and special friend Tom Patterson.

He was preceded in death by his parents William Kreath and Myrtle Ray Smart; and one baby sister Marshella Smart.

Funeral services for Mr. Smart will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 11, 2015 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO with Bro. Dale Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Sims Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday morning from 10 a.m. to service time. The family asks that memorial contributions be made to Edd's companion, Kim Smart. Arrangements are by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
