ZELMA BOATRIGHT
Zelma Ola Boatright, 94, of Zanoni, MO passed away April 28, 2018 at her residence. Zelma was born at Trail, MO in Ozark County on December 6, 1923, daughter of Fred and Belvy (Mayfield) Parsley.
Zelma was devoted to her family, and her home was always open to those that needed a place to stay. She will always be remembered for her homemade yeast rolls and Thanksgiving gatherings, referred to as "Turkey Day". She was an excellent seamstress and she enjoyed gardening and her woodworking projects. She enjoyed quilting as a home business as well as for her family. Zelma was a devoted member of Smith Chapel Church of Christ. She will be greatly missed by those she loved.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Belvy Parsley; her husband Henderson Boatright; one son Elvis Cockrum; her sisters Verna Driskell and Lydia Driskell; and one brother Herman.
She is survived by her daughter Ellen Collins and husband Donald of Zanoni, MO; brother Doyle Parsley of Klamath Falls, OR; grandsons Phillip Boatright of West Plains, MO and Justin Akridge of Columbia, MO; nieces Linda Secrist and husband Curtis of Broken Arrow, OK and Sheila Calhoun and husband Albert of Springfield, MO; nephew Rick Parsley and wife Martha of Knox City, MO; and a very special friend Greg Aldrich of St Louis, MO whom was like a son to her.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, April 30, 2018 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO with Wayne Camp officiating. Visitation will be Monday afternoon from 1:30 p.m. to service time. Burial will be in the Smith Chapel Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Smith Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
