Zola B. Jefferson, 85 years, passed away on November 18, 2009 at Hospice of the Ozarks, Hospice House, Mtn. Home, AR.

Zola was born June 6, 1924 in Ava, MO to Cecil and Bertha (Moore) Buchanan.

Zola was a Homemaker. On September 17, 1942, Zola and Noral K. Jefferson were united in marriage in Ava, MO and to this union five children were born. Zola was a resident of Mtn. Home, AR for the past 13 years moving from CA. She was a member of the Green Valley Missionary Baptist Church in Mtn. Home.

Zola was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Noral K. Jefferson in 1997, one brother, Everett Buchanan and two sisters, Wilma Atchison and Jean Albert.


Zola is survived by five children, Charlotte Maley, Mtn. Home, AR, Glenda Boyd, Sacramento, CA, Patricia Hewitt, Santa Rosa, CA, Larry Jefferson, Windsor, CA and Gary Jefferson, Lower Lake, CA, nine grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, three sisters, Lola Pettyjohn, Lindsay, CA, Norma Wood, Ozark, MO and Joanne Lupton of Illinois and a host of other relatives and friends.

A public visitation will be Sat. Nov. 28th at 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home Ava, MO. Private family graveside services for Zola will be, Nov. 28, 2009 at the Brushy Knob Cemetery, near Ava, MO. Officiating will be Pastor Vernon McNully.
