Zola Marie Somers

Zola Marie Somers, the daughter of Harold Graham and Edith (Turner) Graham Percifield, was born Sept. 6, 1936 in Squires, Missouri and departed this life Nov. 7, 2007 at the age of 71 years 2 months and 1 day.

Zola was a resident of the Ava area for the past 18 years and had also lived in upstate New York. She was employed in the Fabric Dept. with Wal-Mart for 13 years. Zola loved gardening and picking walnuts in the fall. She also enjoyed quilting. She attended Murray Church. Zola adored and loved her family.

On Nov. 11, 1985 Zola and Stuart W. Somers were united in marriage in Gallupville, New York. Zola was preceded in death by her father, 2 sons, Mark and Vernon Whittiemore, one sister, Wanda Myers. She is survived by husband, Stuart Somers, Ava, MO, her mother, Edith Percifield, Squires, MO, three children, Sherry Whittiemore, Phoenix, AZ, Lew Whittiemore, Port Orange, FL, Brent Whittiemore, Summersville, South Carolina, one stepson, Eugene Somers, Esperance, New York, 13 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, one sister Eula Lakey, Ava, MO, one brother, Richard Graham, San Bernadino, CA and a host of other relatives and many friends.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Sat. Nov. 10, 2007 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with the Rev. Tony Turner officiating. Interment will follow in the Murray Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, 6 to 7 in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or Community Hospice of Mtn. Grove at the funeral home.
