AVIS EARLENE SOUDER LOFTIS

Avis Earlene Souder Loftis, 97, of Nottinghill, MO passesd away November 11, 2020 at her residence. She was born November 27, 1922 in Nottinghill to Melvis Alvin and Cora Mae (Foster) Sievert.

Avis graduated from Thornfield High School. She went on to graduate college from (then Southwest Missouri State University) now Missouri State University in Springfield, MO. Avis taught school for many years. After retiring from teaching, Avis became postmaster at Nottinghill Post Office for several years. She loved gardening and taking care of her cats. She was loved and will be missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her son Ralph Brown of Gainesville, MO; her daughter Joyce Silvey of Thornfield, MO; grandchildren Travis Brown, Jessica (Silvey) and Clint Frye; great grandchildren Novalee Newkirk and Cole Cannon, Ashton Jordan, Dawson Brown; three great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Boyd Souder and Everett Loftis; son-in-law Dale Silvey; daughter-in-law Carryl Brown; and one grandson Todd Brown.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2020 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO. Visitation will be Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. to service time. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Wasola, MO. Memorial contributions may be given to Oak Grove Cemetery. Arrangements are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
