Phyllis Leota Mullins

Phyllis Leota Mullins, 69 years, 4 months, and 15 days old, passed away on, July 26, 2021 at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Missouri.

Phyllis was born March 11, 1952 in Gainesville, Missouri to William Ralph and Dohna Fay (Bushong) Mahan.

On September 22, 1979, Phyllis and Gregory Mullins were united in marriage in Springfield, Missouri and to this union two children were born.

Phyllis enjoyed spending time with her family and in her yard planting flowers. The colors she chose were an expression of how she lived her life, bright and colorful. She made everyone she crossed paths with feel like they were one of her own children and was commonly referred to as mama by all those that knew her.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Nettie Hudson, Jim Mahan, Phillip Lee Mahan, and Tom Mahan.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Gregory Mullins, son, Chance Mullins and girlfriend, Becki Wells, daughter, Ashley Lavelle and husband, Michael, three grandchildren, Marley Rose Lavelle, Jimmy Oliver Mullins, and Rylan Wells, brother, Jerald Mahan, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside funeral services for Phyllis will be Thursday, July 29, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the Smith Chapel Cemetery, Gainesville, Missouri.  Officiating will be Halbert Smith.  Memorials may be made to the Smith Chapel Cemetery.
